A re-release of the well-liked first-person role-playing game Horizon Forbidden West is called Complete Edition. I was never comfortable selling anything because rarer versions of a certain weapon type not only fire different ammo but also have better stats. Instead, I would often just stare at the screen and do mental math.
For example, Guerrilla appears to address the problem of shallow side characters by reusing a mechanic from another game: characters who fight alongside you during portions of the main game, a la God of War. I would gladly give each of these people their own main game over Aloy from Forbidden West right away because I genuinely like them. They get together at a hub a la Dragon Age: Inquisition, where you can observe them joking around and ask them about their experiences. Again, this is a great idea in theory, but it just doesn’t work in Forbidden West the same way it does in other games because you don’t get to keep characters after they reach the hub.
